Keynote Reading: Airea Dee Matthews, Ladan Osman, Rickey Laurentiis and Gretchen Marquette

Join us for One Pause Poetry's Keynote Event for National Poetry Month 2016. On Thursday, April 28, at 7pm, poets Airea Dee Matthews, Ladan Osman, Rickey Laurentiis and Gretchen Marquette will be reading at Literati bookstore.

Airea D. Matthews is currently the Assistant Director of the Helen Zell Writers’ Program at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Her book, simulacra, just won the Yale Younger Poets Prize. A Cave Canem and Callaloo fellow, Matthews lives in Detroit with her husband and their four children.

Ladan Osman's chapbook appears in Seven New Generation African Poets (Slapering Hol Press, 2014). The Kitchen-Dweller’s Testimony (University of Nebraska Press, 2015) is the winner of the 2014 Sillerman First Book Prize. She is a contributing editor at The Offing and lives in Chicago.

Rickey Laurentiis was raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. He is the author of Boy with Thorn (University of Pittsburgh Press, 2015), selected by Terrance Hayes for the 2014 Cave Canem Poetry Prize and named one of the best poetry books of 2015 by Poets & Writers magazine.

Gretchen Marquette has served as the assistant poetry editor for Water~Stone Review, and is a 2014 recipient of a Minnesota Emerging Writer Grant. Her first book, May Day, is forthcoming from Graywolf Press. She currently lives in the Powderhorn neighborhood in south Minneapolis.
